Business Description

Talisa is an Afro-Dominican, artist and digital illustrator with a background in fashion, graphic design and traditional fine arts. She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and raised in Miami, Florida where she studied fashion and fine arts at Design and Architecture Senior High. After graduating, she moved to New York City where she graduated with a BFA in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She worked in the fashion industry for over 7 years for companies like Victoria’s Secret and Gap, in various areas like: graphic/surface design, print design and trend forecasting/presentations.

Talisa is currently self-employed after establishing her LLC in March 2021 under the name Almonte Studio, in honor of her father who had a creative business of his own, “Almonte Estudio” in Dominican Republic. Since her father was the person that introduced her to the world of art and design at a young age and because he passed away in February 2021, she felt this was the best way to honor him and continue his legacy.

Her eclectic background has given her the ability to adapt and meet client expectations while staying true to her artistic style. Her work is generally inspired by color usage, nature, TV/film, pop culture and BIPOC representation, she creates one of a kind art prints, stationary, accessories, stickers, pins polymer clay earrings and most newly murals. She’s inspired by the idea that art can be empowering and inspiring to others and believes in the importance of individuality, diversity, and spreading joy through her work. Some of her clients include Marvel, Disney+, Lucasfilm, Wrappr and Buzzballz.
