Business Description

Tasha Webster was born in the late 1980s by parents Gwendolyn and John, from small Southern towns respectively. She was fortunate to have traveled the world with her family as a military dependent and grew fond of experiencing different foods, music, cultures, and environments. As a child, Tasha loved to sing, write songs, dance, and doodle to her hearts content. Trusting her parents’ guidance, however, Tasha went on to receive a Bachelor of Science with a focus on Sociology and later an Executive Master of Business Administration graduate with a focus on Strategic Leadership. She has worked over 5 years in social services and mental health and has served as an Innovator, Writer, Graphic Designer and Consultant for various entities throughout her 12+ years professional career. She first began presenting her artwork publicly in 2010 and has obtained many accolades since to include a front cover publication by 61° North titled “Natasha Webster and the Fall Arts Preview” and serving as an African American Arts Advisor for the Anchorage Museum in Anchorage, AK during their first Black Arts exhibition. Throughout her art career she  has created more than 8 series that have been depicted in 6 unique individual and group exhibitions. The majority of her work reflects themes that seek to unpack social issues, mental health stigmas, women’s rights, and limiting constructs as they relate to African Americans residing in the United States. After enduring and witnessing various forms of racism, discrimination, generational abuse and systemic silencing Tasha felt an overwhelming conviction to address and creatively express these issues through visual arts and poetry. It is her hope that her work not only empowers survivors and underrepresented individuals, but also challenges viewers and those in power to critically digest the irreparable consequences of their actions.
