Business Description

The East End Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) Pop up Market & Cafe has been working diligently to identify sources to provide fresh vegetables to its 8,000 community residents year round. As the 2019 National Winner of Aetna’s Healthiest Cities Challenge  they have been seeking solutions to end a four-decade food desert in this Bridgeport neighborhood.  Their first step was to open a 1200 square foot Popup Market & Café in the summer of 2019 with over 53,000 volunteers donating countless hours to bring this project to life. With very limited access or no grocery stores, they must rely on corner markets that lack fresh produce and other healthy food options. The Market mission is to create a future for the neighborhood by creating a space where our community can invest in themselves and have access to healthy and affordable foods.
