For entrepreneur Johndrea Slay (Ward), what began as a hobby has blossomed into a successful enterprise. Mrs. Slay, a native of Greenville, MS, began creating delicious works of art in 2002 for her family and friends after taking a cake decorating class in Hattiesburg, Ms. With loved ones encouraging her to share her gift, she began offering her creative cakes to the public while living in Charlotte, N.C. in 2010. A cupcake here and a cake there led to Icing by J. Slay, an online bakery based in Houston, Texas, that features custom creations for any occasion. Icing by J. Slay operated a cupcake stand in Deerbrook Mall in Humble, TX in 2013. Icing by J. Slay was a vendor for Super Bowl LI in 2017 hosted in Houston, TX.
Each product is handled with care and made to order to increase the freshness. Icing by J. Slay strives to provide the highest quality and works closely with the customer to infuse personality into each creation. No job is too big or too small.
