Business Description

Through doula support, and childbirth education, the mission of Ilihia Maternity Care is to inspire families in attaining the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum outcomes they desire and genuinely deserve through education, motivation, and support. We especially serve underprivileged and underrepresented teens, single, and at risk(addicted, abused, etc.) moms. Our vision is to see families realize the deep foundational and immediate bond between mother and child through a sound, multifaceted and individualized pregnancy, and birth experience.

Doula services include an initial consultation to evaluate the needs of the expectant mother and her chosen birth team and we create a schedule based off of her preferences. We would meet individually at least 3-5 times throughout her pregnancy for approximately 2 hours. We also assist during the labor and delivery process as well as post partum. Kalei Vellalos, founder and president, has her certifications as a doula for Labor and Delivery (CLD) & Post Partem (CPD). She is also a Certified Lactation Support Educator, Childbirth Educator (CBE) and Newborn Care Educator(NCE). All of her certifications are through Maternity Wise. Kalei has been in practice since 2020 and has serviced many women and their birth teams so far and assisted in training and educating several women at the beginning of their doula journey. Kalei is a mother of 6 and has walked through her own personal pregnancy and breastfeeding journey, assisting many in her own ‘ohana to be as prepared as they can.
