Business Description

The Pediatric Wellness Center of Amarillo (PWCA, a cash based practice) in Potter County of Amarillo Texas, provides primary health care for children ages 0 – 18, or through 21 years in case of special needs issues. PWCA opened in September 2013. PWCA’s focus is to provide information re: health, wellness (regular Well Child Visits), child development to parents of all of our established patients, so that parents know how to raise healthy and happy children. We guide parents through the times when their children get sick, by identifying the cause of the sickness and providing them information how the resilient bodies of children have an innate mechanism of self-regulating and self-healing, if appropriately supported.

PWCA is owned by Pia Habersang, EdD, CNS, APRN who is an immigrant from Switzerland. Her educational background in Nursing (Master Degree)  and Education (Doctoral degree) allows her address these issues.
The funding requested is planned to implement a membership program for our families which allows to further eqiup parents with information pertaining to the physical, cognitive and emotional development of their child/children. Education provided in the membership program can be self paced by the parents with coaching from PWCA staff.

These potential members are recruited as discussed in the Advertising strategy. We will hold meetings open to new parents and invite them to review our program. Once the parents have shown an interest in the membership program, they are invited to a visit at PWCA at no cost to them and we determine if we are a match.  Meaning, do the parents agree with our philosophy and we with theirs.

Some of the grant funding will be used to host these meeting and to cover the cost of that initial visit where we decide if there is a match!
The funding will also be used to hire the health coach who follows up with the parents (after the “marketing” meeting) and who educates the parents how the membership program works (e.g. when visit are scheduled and when educational webinars are most beneficial for them).
