Purpose-filled Outreach Empowering Teens Inspiring Creativity (P.O.E.T.I.C.) is a nonprofit organization providing mentoring programs for middle and high school youth in Georgia. The program will form partnerships with local school districts and parents/guardians. P.O.E.T.I.C’s goal is to create a space for young people that will promote strong interpersonal skills and reaffirm a sense of hope in the future. Mentoring relationships help provide youth with a sense of stability, consistency, and gives them the desire to stay committed to a moral path to adulthood with a sense of achievement.
Youth sometimes have no sense of direction and feel lost, therefore not seeing the endless opportunities that await them if they push past their adversity to reach success in life. To accomplish this goal, youth need to be in a caring, inclusive learning setting that promotes their determination and emphasizes personal respect.
