Rusty Bar Ranch is a 30 acre horse facility located in Pierce County, 2.5 miles from the city of Roy, WA, 11 miles from Yelm, WA and 20 miles away from Tacoma.  We are a full care, boarding, training and riding lesson facility.  We have 2 boarding barns, a 60 X 120 fully enclosed lighted arena, 60’ covered, enclosed round pen, 60’ outdoor round pen, trail obstacle course, and trails.  We are minutes away from miles of beautiful trails on JBLM, and Tacoma Unit #1.

We offer riding lessons to anyone, with or without a horse.  Our horses are well trained, well mannered and happy to do their jobs.  We specialize and focus on relationship building and communication with horses, on their level, which is what keeps you safe and makes your adventure with horses fun.

We also feature the only riding simulator on the west coast.  Sheena, the wonder horse, goes both English and Western.  She is great for the beginning rider, to get a feel and understanding of how the horse moves in a safe, and comfortable environment.  She is also great for the rider who wants to improve their skills or one who is recovering from a riding accident and wants to get their mojo back.  You are riding in real time, and can see exactly what you are doing and your areas needing improvement.

For those wanting a one time horse experience, we can customize that for you, based on your ability and comfort level.  We have horses, ranging in size from miniatures, to ponies, to full sized horses.  Many of our horses were rescued from abusive situations and are living the good life on our ranch.   Kids and adults can come out, meet, handled, enjoy and learn about horses.  Contact us for more details and to schedule an experience.
