This annual weekend retreat takes place the third weekend in September, during Alopecia Awareness month. Attendees gather at a host hotel for beach side s’mores, networking, fellowship and an Alopecia Acceptance support group session.
There are beachside workshops and information sessions, an All White Dinner Boat cruise that we attend as a group and restaurant gathering. These activities help spread awareness and acceptance.
The highlight of the weekend includes the beauty bazaar and the ALL BALD fashion showcase! Attendees shop with two dozen health, beauty and fashion vendors. They dine with caterers, donate blood at the blood mobile, and enjoy live musical entertainment.
The fashion showcase introduces attendees to the not only the fashion designer but the form of Alopecia the model lives with. There are dozens of forms of this autoimmune disease that attacts the hair follicles of men, women and children and there is no cure.
In 2021 we incorporated an Alopecia Awareness aspect to our book tour in Detroit, Dallas, Washington and Florida. In 2022 we plan to expand our tour stops and add more opportunities for awareness and acceptance. We count on entrepreneurs support to accomplish this goal.
Founded in 2017 by Alopecian Angie BEE, her husband and a community advisor, we realize that aceptance now is key to returning a damaged self esteem in an individual. This is why we bring this annual effort. Join us in Daytona Beach on the third weekend in September for this annual retreat. Proceeds from the silent auction are donated to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation at www.NAAF.org
