Business Description

M.A.D.D. RHYTHMS is a phenomenal TAP dance collective whose “SOLE” purpose is spreading the Love and Joy of TAP worldwide. What started as our formula for giving back, is now a multifaceted entertainment institution, with a reputation for representing the history and culture of TAP! We’ve produced 9 full-length productions, created an International tap festival: Chicago Tap Summit and educated hundreds of students via our training institution: M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap Academy. I am most proud of our work to ensure that all of our students have opportunities, regardless of financial situations. We offer an alternative to the school-to-prison pipeline through our youth apprenticeship program: Studio to Stage. Here, we teach all of our students that their voices are important, and their lives matter. This paid cohort of young people, through dance instruction and mentorship, acquire social emotional learning skills, build resilience, and reduce the impact of violence in our community.

M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap Academy

The Tap Academy is the teaching arm of M.A.D.D. Rhythms and was founded out of the necessity to teach tap as a musical form of expression.

Youth Program

Our Youth Program is for dancers ages 2+ at all skill levels. If you are unsure about which class to attend, feel free to contact us.

We require that all of our dancers adhere to a strict dress code of our M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap Academy T-Shirt and a pair of black bottoms. We want all of our students to have tap shoes for class. The Youth Program runs for the entire academic year, but you are able to join at any time.

 

Adult Program

It is never too late to start your tap journey. We want to invite all grown and sexy individuals to join us at our Tap Academy to share in the power and soul of the dance.

We want you to be at ease in your own skin, so come as you feel most comfortable for class. We want all of our students to have tap shoes for class. Shoes are available for rental or purchase at our facility. For a wider variety of shoes, please take a look at our tap shoe supplier list here.

The Adult Program is seasonal: fall, winter, spring, and summer. Each session runs around 10 weeks. Spots in classes fill up quickly so be sure to register in advance.
